Success Stories

Shaggy

Adopted April 2008! Shaggy looked kind of bedraggled in the shelter. Maybe that is why he wasn't adopted right away. But a HSOW member saw the diamond in the rough, so she took him home and cleaned him up. Now he has a great new home with a loving owner. Another happy ending!

Cesar

Adpopted March 2008! Cesar is a large Great Dane mix who arrived at the shelter in terrible condition, physically and emotionally. His foster mom restored his health and confidence, and now he has a new owner and a great new life. He was so happy, he licked the camera!

Rambo

Adopted June 2008! Formerly Roscoe, this sweet dachshund mix found his forever home with a young couple in Charlotte. He's set for life!

Riley

A large, loveable boxer mix. Adopted for the 3rd and last time in April 2004.

Tiny

Tiny was adopted on April 25, 2006. Looks like she has settled in to her new home pretty well!

Bridget

It took a little while to find just the right family for this large Saint Bernard mix, but once these folks saw her, it was love all the way around. She's living the good life in Winston-Salem now. Adopted March 2008.

Peppy

Oh yeah! What could be better for little Peppy than a new coat, a recliner, and a devoted new owner? This is one lucky little Chihuahua. Adopted April 2008!

Sam & Nala

Sam, originally called Whitey, was languishing in the shelter. He is a large white German Shepherd mix--his chances of adoption were not great. But then his forever family materialized just in time, and we pulled him from the shelter to get him ready for adoption. He is a happy boy now! Here he is relaxing in comfort with his new sister, Nala.

Bernie

He's big, he drools, he sheds! But his wonderful new family thinks he's just about perfect! Poor Bernie had been through some hard times. Now, he has two children to take care of and he is getting lots of loving attention.

Bingo

We had this sweet boy in foster for quite awhile. He is so good natured and lovable, but just maybe not as flashy as some. That's okay because eventually the right folks came along, and they had eyes only for him. Have a good life, Bingo!
